It was Hana Kimi's fault! (Thursday 15/03/07)

It was Hana Kimi's fault! I burnt my chicken curry!!! And guess what?? After that I had to turn our dinner into a simple one-dish meal called ANCHOVIES FRIED RICE. This is all because our main dish had become incredibly black by the time I noticed it!!

Well blaming others for something I did wrong is bad I know but it helps make me feel better, unfortunately. Oddly I didn't think so last time. I used to think it morally wrong blaming others for a person's own mistakes. But not until Kenji started to blame me for whatever mistakes he did. Since then I started putting blames on him for whatever that is bad that had happened to me. Just like now, I have just blamed Kenji for being the source to a contagiously bad blaming-others habit that is currently in me. But funny, last night I didn't blame Kenji for my mistake. He wasn't around. I blamed Hana Kimi!

It was terrible, I know. Yeah, it was...really. My chicken curry ended up looking really terrible :) It smelled terrible too. But not only did it smell terrible, it also became totally inedible by the time I turned off the stove. And for that, I had to give Kenji an urgent call. It was about 10:15 p.m. when I called him. Luckily he was still in the office though finishing work very soon after that. But Kenji was really cool about it. Good on me. But really, it was all Hana Kimi's fault!

Well, just in case you have no idea what this Hana Kimi thing, which I am putting all the blame for causing massive damage to our dinner last night is, let me tell you. Hana Kimi is the way I refer to this Taiwanese drama (it has its own title which I happen not to care about) which I am currently religiously watching (somehow). The drama though based off a Japanese shoujo manga series (called Hana Kimi), is in its Taiwanese version and acted by Taiwanese actors.

I must admit that I don't go wild over Japanese things (except for my husband who HAPPENED TO BE Japanese). This drama is no exception. And that does not mean that I am all obsessed with it just because it is in Taiwanese. No. Simply, Hana Kimi's story line is just great. It is both funny and different. In Hana Kimi, I get (to watch) a girl who had to disguise herself as a boy just so she could enter an all-boys high school. The school happens to be attended by a track and field competitor whom she is attracted to. You know, that kind of story, different yet comical through the gender pretence and all. Besides, the characters are mostly well acted out. Each character has its own distinctive features that contribute well to the story. Overall I find it cute. I simply enjoy watching it.

But last night, I didn't only watch the drama. I went slightly overboard. I got logged on to the Internet after finding out that Kenji will be back from work an hour later. So I decided to check out Hana Kimi on the Internet. Honestly, I must have been too happy reading (about Wu Zun especially - heh!) that I simply forgot about my chicken curry. I only realized that my chicken curry is still boiling when the food fragrant started coming to the bedroom.

Well, strangely I wasn't thinking I was over boiling my chicken curry though. Somehow that night I had a belief that 'my' chicken had to take longer time to be cooked. So I left it cooking, not realizing that hours have passed by. Moreover, the only thing I was left to cook after that was the vegetable dish. As a matter of fact, I was waiting for the next 50 mins before I start frying my vegetables. I just like my fried vegetables eaten hot.

So after finding the curry all burnt and the urgent call to Kenji, I quickly turned my plain white rice into fried rice. I didn't have much time left for our late dinner anyways. Mmm, don't know if you understand all the trouble I had to go through having my main dish spoilt and a need to re-cook other 'things' over shorter time, but it was definitely a heart-aching incident. Nevertheless for accidentally burning our dinner over Hana Kimi's sites, I guess, I must say I should have been very much into the information I was getting!! Really. Sorry Kenji. It was just a mild growing infatuation that I am having here over this Hana Kimi (Taiwan) drama series and its actors, but I promise you I won't dump you over some Taiwanese softies. Believe me. *winks*
