Dining out - a new pastime, perhaps? (Monday 28/05/07)

I have been eating out the entire of this week. I am not very sure though if it was because I was just too lazy to cook or simply the convenience of 'outside' food here in Singapore. Kenji has started calling me pucchi (meaning 'half' in English) housewife! Apart from that, my diet has practically been screwed and wallet, quite ripped off by now. Below are some of the pictures of the 'things' I have consumed within the week. Really bad, bad stuff I would say! They nevertheless look nice on pictures though they may make one of the greatest contributors to an unhealthy me (plus, the ripping off of my wallet). Anyways, scroll the page down to see more. On a more positive note however, cheers to all halal (and halal-to-be) food outlets in Singapore!

Left: Coit Tower (ice-cream) and Pirates of the Caribbean drinks at Swensen's. Ok, these ones, I didn't pay for them, and so I lied. My wallet didn't really get ripped off after all. Dad paid for them all. It happened to be a sort-of family sort-of outing on that day. There were more 'things' that we consumed, of course, but my all-time favourite ice-cream definitely had to be photographed! By the way, the Pirates of the Caribbean drinks (and set meals) were simply in conjunction with the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, which is currently showing in Singapore. So the pirate-themed 'things' are not sold permanently in the restaurant. Having said that, I thought I should add that the Pirate's Catch set meal was pretty good. You might want to try it out if you're heading to Swensen's anytime soon.

Above: Kenji looking really pissed. Kenji and I had breakfast at a Delifrance outlet one morning. Kenji had just come back from work then, and was feeling really hungry but very exhausted. So we decided on a filling breakfast at a stress-free environment that morning. I had my usual 'chicken delight' set meal and a cup of cappuccino while Kenji had something else, I don't quite remember what exactly he had by now. Breakfast, anyways, was good.

Above: Hong Kong steamed Grouper (the name for it, I think)... Kenji and I had this fish-dish + Thai chicken curry (not in picture) + plain white rice + Oyster sauce baby kailan for dinner on one of the evenings of the week. This set meal was perhaps the healthiest food I consumed so far.

Sweets for the sweet...the picture above and the other 2 below are all taken at a buffet dinner at Carousel, RP...yummy!

That's it! I hope to look forward to some home-cooked meals in this coming week. Perhaps it's time to check on the diet and save up the wallet for another week of dining out some time next month, I don't know. In the meantime, you take care and I hope you have a good week ahead.
