Nagoya and Nagano In Pictures (Part II)

In Central Honshu.
# PLACES & THINGS

Picture shows a plate of garlic bread and an I-don't-remember-what for dessert. They are my first meal in Japan. Unfortunately, it's western.

This is a Kani mise (crab shop). Not sure if the entire building has got something to do with the kani shoppu and I don't suppose so. Anyhow this is where I got my kani bento (picture below). The car parked on the street is my mother-in-law's, she was the one who bought and paid for my colorful, expensive, crab lunchbox. Thanks, Keiko-san!

Above is a shrine located close to the Okazaki castle. I like the architecture of the shrine especially. Picture was taken from the car.

Above is my kani bento. It was delicious. A portion of my kani bento was exchanged with 2 of Keiko-san's kani sushi, which apparently was just as oishii as my bento!! Lunch that day was all good. Perhaps except for the part when the salmon eggs burst in my mouth as I bit them one-by-one.

Above is in my beloved Hakuba. Picture shows Hakuba Town. Doesn't this remind you of Christmas?? It does to me somehow. And so although I am a Muslim, I kept singing Christmas songs when I was there.

That's me. Picture was to turn out 'artistic'. Well, I don't know what happened to it afterwards. Anyways this picture was taken in the morning when Kenji and I went for a walk around the winter olympics jump area. Picture was taken by Kenji *and I don't know why I put a label on the photo as though I had taken it myself...*

This is one of the more disgusting food Japan could ever serve me. It is called rebasashi. Rebasashi is actually liver sashimi. Not sure where the liver came from though I have faith in Japan that it is not from some baby human being or other odd sources. I didn't try them, of course.

Yes, this is one of the few things I LOVE about Japan. We can eat "sand" all because they look and taste like bread! No, dumbo!

OK, this is what I saw out of my window when I woke up one morning. I thought it was quite a beautiful scenery so I took a picture of it.

This is a train station in Aichi prefecture. Train captain + vending machine + man in mask walking = common sight (I guess).

Another winter landscape. The mountains here are massive!! Each time Kenji and I felt a vibration on our feet + heard a loud sound coming from the mountains, we waited to see if there was avalanche taking place. Excited to see, but my heart was beating like crazy!

**some editing will be done to this post later when Kenji comes back because I'm not too sure if the things I described here like "kani mise" (it doesn't sound right to me actually) are correct.
