"Salam Pengantin"

My money envelopes for this Eid unfortunately greet, “Salam Pengantin” or rather, “Congratulations on your wedding” in English (translation may not be accurate though but somewhat close).

I bought 120 of these envelopes (6 packets of 20 each) about a month ago without knowing that the greetings printed on the envelopes are for weddings. I must have been too excited when getting them all that day such that I had forgotten to check the greetings before I buy.

Supposedly a lesson learnt from Eid last year, I decided I should buy a whole lot of the Eid money envelopes in one go this time, with hopes that I would not run out of them again later during the celebration. Besides, I have always preferred to get the same cover design for all my receivers.

But without knowing that some of the envelopes in the rack outside the shop are for weddings, I asked Kenji to pick his favorite design and right away afterwards, I went to the cashier to pay for them all. Haha. Serve me right for not checking the greetings beforehand.

Anyhow, the envelopes weren't expensive at all. Even then, I plan to get all 120 of them used. So I thought I should just distribute the Eid money in these envelopes and not care about getting them replaced! So “Salam Pengantin” to all my kid and elderly receivers.

it's ok lah.

the 'isi' matters more than the cover and of course, the thought counts too.

most of the time, these envelopes either get thrown away or recycled for further use.

i still use my old sampuls!

yeah, that's right. I agree. kids, especially, wouldn't care a thing about the envelopes. Perhaps one reason why I decided I should just use them :)

Old sampuls are not too bad either!
