It’s been a week of Syawal and therefore ‘a week of’ Eid for most of us Muslims in Singapore. The reason for the inverted commas on “a week of” is because Eid is only a day actually. But Eid is celebrated for quite a long time in the month of Syawal here in Singapore, hence the inverted commas on a 7-day Eid.
‘My’ Eid has so far been joyous, thanks be to God. No adult relatives have up to now killed this festive mood with their odd questions and grating comments yet. So I have been enjoying Eid like nobody’s business and definitely hoping it would stay the same way till Eid ends, whenever that may be.
On another Eid news however, I have almost reached the budget of my money which I have set aside for giving out to children and my elderly relatives. So I think I might need to re-do my budget plan for this occasion. But I don’t know yet. Will see how things go this weekend.
For the past week too I managed to visit quite a number of relatives at their homes, which is a good thing. But as I have somewhat a big family, there are still many homes/relatives I am left with to visit. My home on the other hand has been free, which means not visited by anyone yet, but I am perfectly fine with it though all are welcome.
This coming weekend however I have several “open house” to attend. Am quite looking forward to it actually cuz’ there will be loads more people to see, although most probably it would be the same faces I have been seeing since Eid.
On an un-Eid news however, Fadli’s getting married! And I am definitely happy for him. Fadli is an old friend. He called me up last night while I was at Bedok Reservoir making an Eid visit to an uncle’s place. Fadli wanted to meet up for a bit to pass me his wedding card. But because I wasn’t in town so we postponed the meetup to another day. But ha! Really can’t wait, and very excited for him.
Alrighty. That’s all I’ve got for now. Time to see some funky hairdresser in the city for a haircut and hair highlight, so until then, take care.
