Nagoya and Nagano In Pictures

In Central Honshu.
# PEOPLE
This is Aniki, my brother-in-law. Well in case you do not know it, "aniki" is not his name. "aniki" means older brother and apparently that is how he has always been referred to at home. Aniki is a barber, and picture shows him cutting and styling Teruhisa-san's hair at his salon. Aniki lives on the second floor of his shop with his hairdresser wife, Mari-san.
These are the kings of ciggies and alcohol. No! By right almost every Japanese man in my eyes is a champion of cigarette and alcohol!! Anyhow these are Kinya and Nomu, Kenji's high school mates. Kinya is a rock singer while Nomu used to teach Japanese in Melbourne.
This is my mother-in-law. She works as a beautician and owns 2 beauty salons. Photo shows her opening one of her salons. Irasshaimase!
Father and son in Meitetsu bus. Photo shows Teruhisa-san and Kenji on an hour-long bus journey from the Central Japan International Airport all the way to a terminal close to home. Bus ticket costs a passenger S$30.00 each.
That's me looking exceptionally happy. It must be one of those few times when I managed to collect food from the plate to my mouth without dropping them off the chopsticks.
That's me and Kenji at the compound of the Okazaki castle. I remember it was pretty cold that time and wind was blowing pretty strongly in the gardens. Kenji had to hold on to a bottle of coffee to keep his hands warm as we went on a stroll through the gardens.
The person on this picture is a, erm, a man. Yes, he is a man. This man was pushing a trolley of snacks and drinks from one cabin to another as the train journeyed from Nagoya to Nagano. The snacks and drinks in the trolley are not for free. They are for sale to passengers onboard the train. Just like an air crew, this man also has a uniform and a 'special' seat designated only for him.
OK, this is John-ny, Kenji's darling. It serves as a guard dog to the Kimuras. I personally find it very cute. John-ny is quite an old dog, 13 years old to be precise. After meeting John-ny, I thought I, too, would like a guard dog just like John-ny.
*more pics will be uploaded in this post later. so please check this post out from time to time if you're interested to see them, yah.*
